I help tell stories that outlast the formats they're born in.

More than twenty years leading from the maker's seat, across indie films, franchise television, and immersive worlds — the perspective you only get from having done the work.

They survive because someone holds the through-line. New technology re-sequences how things get made long before it replaces anyone; the work is to thin the hype and get to the real work. And the decision rarely lives in the document. It lives in the room.

About

The stories that matter outlive everyone who tells them. Keeping them true for the audiences still to come is the work I love most, and it's been the same job in every seat I've held, just at different altitudes.

That job once meant creative development and production for the Emmy-winning Game of Thrones main titles at Elastic. Later it meant producing films through an indie fund I structured and led, and later still, prototyping new kinds of interactive experiences with Meta and Disney as chief creative officer of Hexagram. Somewhere in there I picked up an MBA, because the economics quietly decide which stories get to exist.

More than twenty years of seats like those leaves you with scar tissue rather than opinions: a feel for where a story is quietly breaking, and the standing to lead from inside the work.

Technology has been a real love the whole way through. I reach for new tools because of what they open up — for the story, the character, the audience. The tools have changed a dozen times on me, and the job never has.

Selected Works

SAMO LIVES (in post-production) — Producing the Basquiat biopic for NEON, MACRO, and Fifth Season. The kind of story you only get one chance to tell right.

Game of Thrones — Creative development and production for the main titles at Elastic, the opening that mapped the world of Westeros.

Luce  â€” A drama that never lets the audience settle on a verdict. Sundance Grand Jury Prize nominee, acquired by NEON, produced through an indie film fund I structured and led.

Dublab — Co-founded one of the first internet radio stations; now a nonprofit institution, 25 years and running.

Hexagram — Chief creative officer, leading interactive experiences and prototypes for partners like Meta and Disney.

Working Together

I take on a small number of advisory and consulting engagements: creative direction, story and IP, production, and the places where storytelling meets new technology. If that's the problem you're chewing on, let's talk.
